Weight: 203.5 lbs
Fat Weight: 47.3 lbs
Muscle Weight: 145.2 lbs
Blood Pressure: 132/90
Heart Rate: 63
So begins a journey of 30 days of complete sobriety. This will be a challenge. But stepping out of the familiar always is.
I began replacing alcohol with THC for self-medicating stress and smoothing over social interactions. In the parlance of our times, gonna raw dog stress and social interactions. We'll see how that goes.
Multiple studies have come out, and my own experiences have shown, THC also increases blood pressure and heart rate. Regularly while chilling on a 10mg edible, my watch will suddenly warn me "You Need to Relax" as it notes my heart rate has started to spike without any accompanying physical activity to warrant it. I can at that same time, hear my heart beating in my ears as my blood pressure begins to spike.
THC may not be as damaging to your overall health like alcohol. But if you've already laid down a solid foundation of damage with alcohol, THC can easily keep the issues piling up inside you. So it has become a traitor to me, just like whiskey.
I hope to drop close to 5 lbs of fat, and I hope to drop my resting heart beat by a 1-3, sub 60 would be a treat. And of course BP as close to 120 as I can get it. All in the next 30 days. This is an experiment to see if those targets are even feasible.
I expect the immediate gains to be "drastic" and after those initial gains, the improvements slow down greatly. Just from my experience with other health changes I've attempted in the past.
To accompany the change in substance intake, at least 3-4 miles of running each week if not more. And walks or rowing in between running days as I let my joints recover.
Getting old isn't getting any easier.
